91¶ÌÊÓÆµ offers a wide range of scholarships and bursaries to support students on their educational journey. With a commitment to academic excellence and accessibility, we provide academic scholarships, music scholarships, boarding school scholarships, and Indigenous scholarships for new and current students.
Our scholarships help support promising learners and well-rounded individuals across various disciplines.

Indigenous scholarships
91¶ÌÊÓÆµ is proud to offer Indigenous scholarships supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander boys throughout their secondary education.
Applicants are selected based on their current academic progress, leadership qualities, school attendance, and interest in tertiary study. These criteria should be specifically addressed in your application.
The scholarships, along with ABSTUDY and parent contributions, cover tuition and boarding fees from Year 7 to Year 12. Parents or guardians are required to contribute financially to the boys’ social activities and events, as well as extra-curricular items such as musical instrument hire.

The Kaartidijin Scholarship
As a result of funding from the J P Stratton Foundation in 2025, the Norm Rankin Bequest, and the 2023 Annual Appeal for Indigenous scholarships, we are proud to offer an annual scholarship for Indigenous boys entering Year 11.

Criteria for the Kaartidijin Scholarship
- The student will be residing in the Perth metropolitan area, to join 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ for Years 11 and 12.
- The scholarship will be awarded, on an annual basis, to allow the student to begin at the College in the October of Year 10, thereby aligning with 91¶ÌÊÓÆµâ€™s academic year.
- The student will display the academic and social ability to thrive at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ as well as an aptitude to take up the extensive cocurricular opportunities available.

TÃ lantach scholarships
Adjective · talented · gifted [Scottish Gaelic]
Taken from the Scottish Gaelic word for gifted and talented, our TÃ lantach Scholarships are key to the College’s commitment to providing lifelong opportunities. This academic scholarship provides opportunities to boys of all backgrounds, including those who would otherwise be unable to attend the College due to financial reasons.
Covering up to 95% of school fees for the successful applicants, the Tà lantach Scholarships enable students with high academic potential to excel, and equips them with the benefits of a 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ education. As one of the leading IB schools in Perth, we’re proud to empower students with the support of a world class education.
This substantial scholarship recognises the founding values of our College, and the desire to promote academic excellence and diversity.
Applications for our TÃ lantach Scholarships are NOW CLOSED.
Who is eligible?
This scholarship is open to students not currently enrolled at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ or another PSA school. Applicants must be Australian citizens and will be required to provide proof of Australian citizenship.
Successful Tà lantach recipients will be means tested annually to determine the percentage of tuition fees to be paid. The scholarship can cover between 5–95% of tuition fees.
Our ability to offer scholarships, such as Tà lantach, is made possible by the generosity of donors from our 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ community.
Academic testing
Students will be required to complete academic testing as part of the selection process.

Required documentation includes:
- Latest school reports, plus any NAPLAN reports.
- A letter addressed to the Headmaster outlining why you would like to attend 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
- A minimum of two referee statements that provide evidence of personal attributes, community contributions, leadership potential and other areas of interest. Nominated referees may be from community organisations, sporting clubs, churches, previous or current school/s, and should not be family members. Ideally these statements will appear on an organisational letterhead, be signed by the referee and include contact details.
- Any certificates, awards, invitations to participate, or other appropriate supporting documentation

Types of scholarships
Academic scholarships
The following scholarships are awarded to students who have demonstrated academic excellence.
- J A Gooch Scholarship – for current 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ students.
- G G Gooch Scholarship – for students from other schools (outside of 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ).
- Open Entrance Scholarship – for outstanding students.
Boarding scholarships
Each year 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ offers scholarships for our boarding school to outstanding students from rural areas to commence at the College as a Year 7 boarder.
Our Boarding Scholarships are available to students in regional Western Australia, as well as other Australian states and territories.
Music scholarships
91¶ÌÊÓÆµ offers music scholarships to talented, hardworking young musicians in Perth to further their studies.
Scholarship recipients are expected to contribute fully and strive for excellence throughout their musical journey at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ.
Only shortlisted applicants will be invited to audition, with further details provided by the Head of Music after the examination.
How does the selection process work?
Applicants must sit an academic entrance examination at 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ or remotely at their current school.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview with the Headmaster and Director of Admissions and Advancement.

Applications for our Year 7, 2028 Academic, Music and Boarding scholarships will open in November 2026.
Music Fellowships
Up to six Music fellowships are offered each year for current and new students entering Year 7, who demonstrate natural musical aptitude and a passion for their practical musical studies.
Music fellowships are awarded to a musician from any background or experience level, with the College determining which instrument will be offered for future study.
Please note that Music fellowships do not require students to sit an academic entrance examination, as these fellowships apply exclusively to tuition fees associated with the Music programme.
What’s included?
- A 100% remission of the annual music tuition fees for the allocated instrument until the end of Year 12.
- A 100% remission of the annual instrument hire charges for the allocated instrument (only for the first year of the fellowship).
91¶ÌÊÓÆµ expects fellowship recipients to maintain a high level of musical proficiency and set an example to others in the 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ community.

International students
91¶ÌÊÓÆµ does not currently offer scholarships for international students. As a leading IB School in Australia, we are proud to be one of few schools in Perth to provide the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.

Bursaries and financial assistance
Bursaries are open to all current students to help families in need with paying fees.
In all cases, the financial circumstances of the family are taken into consideration. Applications can be made in confidence to the Headmaster.
W A Gardner Bequest
Bursaries from the W A Gardner Bequest were set up to support the enrolment of sons and grandsons of Old 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ Collegians. These bursaries cover the whole or part of the tuition of students who would otherwise be unable to attend the school.
Former member of teaching staff W A Gardner made a bequest in 1968 to establish this fund.
